There are some sources of curry leaves in the East Bay: Berkeley Bowl always has small bags of fresh leaves (by the ginger and lemongrass), as do the Indian groceries in West Berkeley (Vik's, Milan). I'm sure the South Bay has sources too, but don't know about San Francisco or Marin.

If you have a yard and about $100, you could buy a curry leaf tree (Murraya koenigii). Apparently they will tolerate our climate. That said, it's too bad that none of the farmers who sell at the Bay Area farmers markets grow curry leaves. When I lived in SoCal, I would buy them at the Santa Barbara farmers market from a stand with the most amazing collection of herbs and leaves.
